What is one thing that you can take away from today's session and use in your class right away?
What is one topic that you would like to cover in one of the two remaining sessions?

It was great to review the material. I also got back in touch with my learning style. I don't have specific areas to cover. It's just nice to be able to take the day and work on skills.
Good Morning Guys! I am really excited about using Web Quests in my classroom. I am trying my 1st one as soon as we return from break. I found a neat one using a web quest portal site that Chris had sent me. The WebQuest is on Genetic Disorders and I think the kiddos will enjoy it! I used my evaluations tools from our last session to evaluate this web quest and they were very helpful. what I am worried about in terms of webquest is finding time to research and evaluate web quest.
I liked the helpful hints and the ideas about pairing groups..I will use this! In the next 2 sessions I would like to look at wickies, blogs, skypes, web2o, podcasts.
I like the way you, Martha, have such a high degree of expertise and you are unflappable no matter what goes wrong with the technology or how technologically inexpert we are! Excellent ideas! And many of them I can use tomorrow!
Learning that there is a plethorus of webquests is encouraging in terms of choices...the downside is lack of time to review them for use with my students. The session today was useful in getting feedback on several webquests, on description of tasks and characteristics of a quality webquest. I am motivated to use webquest this school year...post MEA's. Sabina
I agree with Ricia that it is amazing how well Martha handles any and all technology issues that arise...It inspires me to do the same in my classroom!
I really learned what I am looking for in a webquest and how to evaluate them. I also am excited about all the new sites that I can find them at. Next time, I would like to get more info on blogs and podcasts.
I liked looking at the different ways to create rubrics and will use the site(s) for next unit of study. I liked looking at the different WebQuests. This is giving me ideas what to do and how to use them.
I would like to spend most of the rest of the time on inquiry. I think inquiry is an incredibly important teaching strategy and I would like for all of us to be encouraged to use inquiry more and more.
Sabina's comment about time is so germaine. We are always making decisions based on the most information in the shortest amound of time because the science MEAs are always looming. Most of the project type things have gone by the wayside, but after looking at some of then webquests, I am beginning to change my mind. Some of the quests are constructed so that they deliver a lot of important info in a very short time.
Thanks for your kind words. I hope that modeling "techno saves" help you feel less stressed when you are in that position. REALLY...that's the only reason I screw up in the first place. :) I wish it were so easy to only wish everything be perfect to make it so. However, we all know that doesn't work. We need to rely on ourselves, and more importantly on our peers and students to help when we just can't see the solution. Martha
Having been in the regular classroom for 22 years, I appreciate the complexities of teaching today. For the last three years I have been a Certified eMINTS Trainer/Mentor and my job is to coach teachers in using inquiry-based teaching in a technology-rich environment. Working with 19 different school districts is a challenging job, but one I look forward to every day.

I think it would be important to cover inquiry learning, podcasts and classroom communication tools.

Ricia,
I agree with you. Martha is very good at what she does. She is a true professional and has taught me alot.
WoW! She must be good if she can teach "macho man" a lot!

I also agree with Sabina about lack of time. Maybe we could use some curriculum time for this.

I would like to learn how to better communicate
on the web, learn about webcasts, and get Real Science data. (and I'll think of more!)
