I agree with Chris that this is a transforming application. An interactive power-point represents the sort of task that could only be done with a computer, so the product is something that students could not have duplicated without technology.
jen - I still think that it is in the adaptive phase because the students are just creating a powerpoint instead of teaching the 2nd graders through another method. Same old thing with new tools.
I think that it leans more towards adaptive in that students use their skills in making a power point to teach other students about the human body...just a variation in presentation
Having been in the regular classroom for 22 years, I appreciate the complexities of teaching today. For the last three years I have been a Certified eMINTS Trainer/Mentor and my job is to coach teachers in using inquiry-based teaching in a technology-rich environment. Working with 19 different school districts is a challenging job, but one I look forward to every day.

I think this is a transformimg activity. Students use technology to teach other students from outside thier classroom.

I agree....transforming. I'd love to do this w/ my kiddos!
